Well just in time for doubledusks 6 month anniversary I have decided we are getting a dedicated minecraft server again. It is already up and running. I didn't like our old hosting, we could not figure out some lag issues for the majority of our users. I am trying something different and unfortunately more expensive. The first month is 1/2 off the price. So I will decide this month if this is worth having again. I'll decide based on feedback from viewers, streamers, and looking at actual play time and seeing how often the server is dead and such.
So please explore, have fun, build, fight and everything else that makes minecraft great. As of right now the cap is at 50 people. I don't think we will get near that number and I expect to lower the cap once we see how many people need to be logged before the server gets mad.
Maps are going to be available on request if you would like to have on for single player. Along with any/every time we have to start a new map I will upload old maps. There is an automated server restart at 3am ( I think it's pst, not sure)There will be warnings in chat before the restart. The map saves every 3 hours on the hour. Bukkit is installed but I have no plugins for it yet. (I only had a very few hours between getting it up and running and leaving for work which I spent playing on the server)
If it isn't obvious, this is my project (glueguy). I don't want people disturbing mistawho or adventure about it. This isn't to exclude them, I don't want them being bugged about something they have no part in. If they want to help out, then I/we will make it known they have access to the server and can be contacted for server issues.
I've been debating about a whitelist. Not sure whether or not it is worth the hassle. But it will give me very good information about who is using our server. Let me know what you think the server needs. Doubledusk@gmail.com

Enjoy and tell me what you think.

We have a thread on the official forums for minecraft, so when streaming give it a bump.
It's easy and you only gotta do it once something like "live now" should be enough.

The Rise of DoubleDusk
Consider these guidelines
1. When you stream on either stream try to shoot for at least 1 hour, viewers don't like seeing a streamer pop on for 20 mins most of the time.
2. Streaming is about bringing a story to life from a 2d screen, remember while playing that you have an audience, keep them included in on the action.
3. Were all cool guys and we can all curse, just go easy on the hair gel and leather coats from time to time.
4. Streaming on the creative stream is like being a part time DJ, make sure to include a large range of music.
5. Other streamers want to stream too. After about 3 hours if you see another streamer in chat, ask them if they would like a turn to stream.
6. Like the Goddamn Batman prep-time goes a long way, nobody wants to sit around watching you download a game, messing with the mixer, or log into the studio to fix your ticker.
7. About that ticker. Fix it. To other streamers if a newbie has been caught with their proverbial ticker pants down, get it for them and remind them.
8. Pick a game with some substance. Playing flash based games for funsies is nice, but people like to get invested in a story so try to pace yourself.
9. Sometimes it can help to have someone with you in voice chat during a stream, but consider this. When chat is exploding with text, it's hard to read and likewise when there are too many people talking in stream it's hard to hear the streamer.
10. We love games... Love Games?
